Shadows

I chased away the shadows today
removed the dirt from under the rug
I opened my mind today
unpacked my heart
I said your name out loud today
smiled at the sound
I am chasing away the shadows

Night

Soaring through an endless night
with wispy wings
this bird of flight
a soft voice calling out
casting away
all signs of doubt
a melody barely heard
yet you know it
word for word
grace and beauty intertwined
to ease the spirit
and cleanse the mind

A Moment

taste
the salty air
as the ocean
crashes in
the warm sand
beneath my toes
birds soaring above
cares far from mind
like pictures
on post cards
relaxed
in this moment
the world
seems to sojourn
and for that instant
I am free

Logic

When you know the answer
and the truth is left untold
you beg for the reason
no logic to hold
smiling people
her to deceive
pulling on your heart strings
can you believe
wrapped so neatly
in a box to the back
just when you are not prepared
reality seems to attack
is a lie more painful that the truth
can you continue to mask the pain
when destiny taps your door
will you believe you are sane
locked in unreason
you go about your day
Outside is sunny
while inside you're gray

Losing

Clutter and Chaos spinning
a Topsy-turvy blunder
a sudden beginning and
the unexpected never ending
smiles just the same
a moment we call perfect
a fakeness all of its own
laughter, tears no separation
lies and truth on a platter for two
building what will always be
at the very edge of completion
love and hate working to destroy
a promise that was never intended
a broken heart will always heal
how do we know
time should tell the tale
the shattered pieces come together
but will never create
what once was there
promises only words
words with out actions
emotions lost to the wind

There is no room for sound
A starlit sky

Watch my eyes

Worshiping the skin beneath
